Do
I need a web developer or a web designer? How do I go about
picking the right one for me? |
| |
Web designers conceptualize and
plan out a web site. Developers are those who use HTML or ASP
or any other language to build the actual pages as well as
optimizing graphics for the Web and producing Flash, video
or audio.
Some tips to sort through your choice of developers
and designers:
- Looking at web sites done for other clients is not always
a good indicator of a web developer's skills, since it's
hard to tell exactly what they contributed to the site
and how much it's changed since they worked on it. If possible,
ask what role they played in completing the project.
- Be careful of self-taught designers and developers who
haven't worked in an agency or corporate setting. They may
not have the training or knowledge to complete jobs on deadline.
- A degree in computer science or engineering, psychology,
multimedia is an asset.
- Education in web programming, interface design, or multimedia
production is also preferable.

Does
my business need a website? |
| |
Yes.What other medium allows you to expose all
the benefits of your small business to your target market at
their convenience and provide a source of direct correspondence
from them to you with 24-hour exposure, 7 days a week, 365 days
a year? The benefits of a website are innumerable. |
| |
How
much does a web site cost? |
| |
There are a few factors that affect the cost of
your web site including how many pages you are going to have,
if you will sell products on your web site, the graphic work
required, and how interactive your future web site will be. You
will also need web hosting and domain name registration. |
| |
Do
I need to hire a "local" web site designer? |
| |
We create web sites for local and international
clients via the Internet, email and the telephone. It's possible
to communicate effectively with clients in any location. |
| |
How
long does it take to have a web site designed? |
| |
The time frame is determined by the size of your
web site, the complexity of your site design, and our current
client design schedule. |
| |
I
have a small business. What if I don't want to sell online? |
| |
There may be people who are curious about your
business, but have never walked through your door because they
simply haven't made the time. By providing access to your business
online, these potential customers can learn about your product
line, business hours, customer service policies; all in the privacy
of their home or office - they might just take a few moments
to call, email or visit your shop the next time they have a need
for the products you provide.
Even a small business has the potential to save in customer
service costs by providing elementary information such as hours
of operation, location and contact information. You can also
display a list of frequently asked questions and answers, a
calendar of upcoming events or even job openings.
